The CTOMS PocketHoist Litter is a lightweight, small pack volume, hoist-able litter for a non-ambulatory casualty without spinal injury.  It is an intermediate capability between a harness hoist and a full casualty basket, where space and weight are an issue.  It can easily be packed in a back country rescue kit without a heavy carriage burden.   

 

The support straps cinch around the casualty to hold closely in position.  Adjustments can be made on the head/hood angle and leg support straps.  The hood will accommodate the casualty wearing a helmet.  An integrated stuff sack holds the litter until ready for use.  Grab handles allow for easy maneuvering and short ground movement.
